What a care plan should actually include

Monthly website retainers have a bad reputation, usually deserved. Here is what one should cover.

Backups before every change

Not weekly. Before every change, with a restore that has actually been tested.

Theme and app updates

Applied and checked, not applied and hoped. An update that silently breaks a checkout is worse than no update.

Small edits included

Copy changes, price updates, swapping a photograph. If every edit is quoted, you will stop asking and the site will go stale.

A person who answers

A named human with a response time. A ticket queue is not support.

And what should not be in it

New features. Those are projects, quoted separately, so you are never surprised by an invoice.
